I know I’ve been MIA, (I am actually writing this from my iPhone.) I haven’t turned on my laptop since Saturday because I’ve been diligently reading Stephen King’s, Under the Dome: A Novel. I began this behemoth of a novel last month-initially I read in short bursts because -silly me- I’d forgotten how gruesome and graphic his stories can be. Add to that a town full of characters both alive and dead, to keep track of not to mention the connections between them and their pets even made me feel the need to read some then put it down to process.
However by Saturday I’d gotten to about page 300 of a 1,000 plus story and caught what I like to refer to ass “the reading bug”. I wanted to get through the story, to find out what happens next, and by then I’d already acclimated to the gore and had all the characters straight so I was more inclined to read in longer spans of time. I’ve a ton of other books on my shelf just waiting for me to open and this one is holding me up! I’m at about the 800 page mark give or take ten pages and I can’t wait to finish so I can tell you all what I thought about Under the Dome.
