I love books. I’ve had a love affair with them since I was a child. I’m almost always reading a book…or two. There is something about them that makes me happy. I don’t know if its the anticipation of an amazing tale, the emotions brought on by favorites, or just all those words. I love words too, in case you hadn’t guessed.
I also find it positively intriguing that no matter how many books I read, there is always something new to curl up with.
Two of my favorite places to be are bookstores and libraries. I love to run my fingers along all the bindings, reading the titles, seeing if something will pop out at me. In the past after I’d finished with a book, I’d usually pass it on to a friend who I thought would enjoy it. Now, however I want to build my collection. Yes. I am now a collector of books. Nothing fancy, just the ones I enjoy reading. If I had it my way, every available wall in my home would be covered in floor to ceiling bookcases and bursting with novels. One of the things I hope to do this year is put up some bookcases on a wall I’m keeping bare for just that purpose in my living room.
Earlier today I captured a few pictures of my beloved books.
These books are a sampling of the titles that are on my “must read next” list. I can’t wait to start Her Fearful Symmetry, by Audrey Niffenegger it sounds positively titillating!
These are my books, or at least the ones I’ve read in the last year or so. I’m slowly trying to fill my library with my favorite stories, when I see them at garage sales, used book stores, consignment shops, or flea markets I scoop them up.
And this behemoth is what I’m reading now. It’s Stephen King’s latest, Under the Dome.
Nicole Olea’s love language is communication. She does this best using her keyboard as a freelance copywriter and editor. Creative and resilient with high-level experience in social media management, content creation, and eCommerce marketing, Nicole Olea was a professional volunteer, sharing her skills with various non-profit organizations who paid her in hugs. For the last 20 years, she’s lived a quasi-nomadic life, moving across the country and the Atlantic with her active-duty husband and their three kids. She’s awkwardly stumbling toward her goal of becoming a saint. She’s got God-sized dreams and wants you to have them too!
SO nice that you got through that many books I’m lucky if I have time for a magazine. My mom is a huge Stephen King fan we usually grab books at good will great bargains
Wow, that’s a great collection of books! I’m just starting to get back into reading after taking a long hiatus. I’ll browse your shelves!
