Judging by how few books I read in 2014, it was a busy year.
It was something I felt a keen absence of. As it is, I have three books on my Goodreads list that I’ve not completed. (I’ve annotated those with an asterisk.)
Compared to 2013 or 2012, or 2011, this list is short y’all! In previous years I averaged about 30 books per year, this is half that!
- The Diviners by Libba Bray*
- Painless Grammar by Rebecca S. Elliot
- The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
- And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard
- Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon
- Writing and Selling the YA Novel by K.L. Going
- Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink
- Astonish Me by Maggie Shipstead
- Sinner (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #4) by Maggie Stiefvater
- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- Paper Towns by John Green
- Perfect Ruin by Lauren De Stefano*
- Half Bad by Sally Green
- Of Bees and Mist by Erick Setiawan*
- Prince Lestat by Anne Rice
Here are a few of my book related Instagrams from 2014.
I love seeing lists of books others have read, so if you’ve got one, share the link in the comments, or just jot down some of your favorite reads in 2014.
I also happened upon this fun reading challenge. I’m so all over this!
Nicole Olea’s love language is communication. She does this best using her keyboard as a freelance copywriter and editor. Creative and resilient with high-level experience in social media management, content creation, and eCommerce marketing, Nicole Olea was a professional volunteer, sharing her skills with various non-profit organizations who paid her in hugs. For the last 20 years, she’s lived a quasi-nomadic life, moving across the country and the Atlantic with her active-duty husband and their three kids. She’s awkwardly stumbling toward her goal of becoming a saint. She’s got God-sized dreams and wants you to have them too!
I read regularly but don’t see any on your list I read this year. I have never given thought as to the amount of books I read in a year. Now you have me curious. I will have to check out my goodreads.
I am always looking for a suggestion for a good book. This makes a good list for me! Lone Survivor was my last book and it was unbelievable!
I wish I could read more for fun. My nose is always in a textbook for school. I would love to read a few of these on your list.
The only one on your list that I read was Gone Girl. I would love to spend an hour a day reading at least. I need to do that!
I made a list of books I want to read this year! I hope I can cross them all off.
This is a great list. Now I know what I need to read. I’m interested in Dead Beautiful.
You read more books than me. I managed to get through the selection series and bared to you series. Thats about it.
I want to read more books this year and I’m going to try really hard to make more time for them. There is nothing better than getting lost in a good book!
I rarely pick up books these days. I love reading, though, so I NEED to find time! I hope you can manage to read more in 2015!
I’ve been looking for some new reading options this year and there are several on this list that I haven’t check out yet! Once I finish up the Outlander series I’ll start working my way through them!
I LOVE Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. SOOOOO good!
I really need to take a look at my schedule and see if there’s a way I can fit a little more quiet, reading time into my day. I read a lot…but only kid books. I see a lot on your list that I would love to dive into.
The only book I’ve rer on your list so far is The Fault in Our Stars. I haven’t seen the movie to go with it yet. I don’t have anything great to recommend off the top of my head at the moment. I really need some new FICTION books to read!
